My client is located in Johannesburg North and they have been in existence for over 50 years.

They have a global footprint and are the market leader in their niche. The purpose of the role is for the (IFRS) specialist to work within the Group Reporting team, to interpret and apply IFRS principles across the various businesses within the international group.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• CA(SA) or ACMA
• Open to all industries within the private sector
• Ensuring compliance with IFRS by implementing consistent accounting solutions for transactions and collaborating with the Group Financial Reporting team
• Supporting the businesses in assessing new IFRS standards, developing accounting policies and manuals to facilitate adherence to IFRS, providing training on IFRS, and aiding in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with IFRS
• Preparing and presenting papers to the Audit Committee
• Liaising with stakeholders, communicating with the JSE/sponsors, and working with external auditors to address IFRS and financial statement inquiries
• Preparing and reviewing Annual Financial Statements
• New or amended IFRS Standards
• Keeping abreast of IFRS and reporting developments and pro-actively expanding and deepening practical understanding and application of IFRS, ensuring knowledge transfer to the larger finance teams
• Development and roll out of project plans to adapt financial reporting in line with revised IFRS standards
• IFRS interpretation and application across the Group (including international operations)
• Liaising with Stakeholders
• Preparing and presenting papers to the Audit Committee
• Liaising with external auditors, specifically on IFRS queries and Financial Statement queries
• Assisting with communication to the JSE and Sponsors
• Participating in industry forums
• Supporting the investor relations team with technical queries on results
• Staying abreast of IFRS and public reporting developments and pro-actively expanding
