The Group Accountant is responsible and accountable for overall finance management, supervisionof finance personnel, all financial administrative routines and efficiencies within the FinanceDepartment.
Objectives of this Role
Complete finance management and execution of all financial control procedures andprocesses as per Standard Operating Procedures
Develop new metrics for driving business performance relative to strategic priorities andminimizing risk
Drive value within the business through margin enhancement, lower costs, and operationalefficiencies
Execute accurate reporting that enables sound analysis and financial recommendations
Manage relationships with bankers, auditors, and authorities
Comply with national and local financial regulations by studying existing and proposedlegislation
Communicate discrepancies to management team, identify potential risks, and recommendworkable solutions
Strengthen and grow relationships with customers and/or suppliers throughcommunications regarding accounts and discrepancies
Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts process by identifying areas ofperformance and process improvement
Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting, and comply with statutoryfinancial requirements

Payroll management, audits and compliance
Responsibilities
Manage a team that develops financial and valuation models, materials, andrecommendations for executive decision-making by conducting comprehensive analyses andutilizing appropriate methods
Coordinate strategic financial planning for the company and its clients, including expenses,income, insurance coverage, objectives, tax status, and risk tolerance
Focus on daily and month-end accounting to determine results, including management fees,gross-ups and re -classes
Manage balance sheet activity (deferrals, accruals), and cash application
Support finance partners in implementing valuation models, measuring results, trackingperformance vs. expectations, and providing recommendations for corrective action
Provide insights about spending trends, cost-savings initiatives, and margin opportunities
Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to management whilerecommending further courses of action
Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take
Maintain the financial health of the organization
Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company's actualperformance compared to the business plans
Develop trends and projections for the company's finances
Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design aframework for these to be met
Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained
Preparing business activity reports, financial statements, and forecasts
Ensuring financial legal requirements are met
Developing financial reporting systems
Finding ways to reduce or maintain costs by studying financial reports and businessprocesses
Analyzing market trends to discover business opportunities and maximize profits.
Aiding management in financial decisions
Supervise the preparation of reconciliations
Monitor and enforce compliance with tax and financial reporting standards and assist withcash flow forecasting
Responsible for HR Management activities within the Department. Duties include but is not limited to hiring, training, upskilling, performance measurement and coaching, progressionplanning, discipline management and recording of time and attendance of departmentresources
Qualifications and Experience
Grade 12
BSc Financial Accounting / B.Com Honours, with a Financial Accounting Major, Post article
5 - 7 years' of finance experience
Strong finance-based analytical skills
IFRS
Experience in manufacturing - Automotive
Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and capital assettracking.
Leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
