Analyzing a design brief and producing the necessary design-associated paperwork
Recording the design progression and delivering advancement updates to pertinent parties
Constructing reusable library modules
Crafting various versions of design prototypes via HDL design suite and tools
Performing thorough tests and adjusting the product according to test outcomes
Validating and rectifying system firmware issues
Constructing firmware modules in alignment with established industry norms and rules
Appraising design resolutions in comparison to industry guidelines and mandates
Formulating an engineering user interface for configuration, surveillance, and assessment purposes
Skills & Experience:
Solid grasp of abstraction principles as they pertain to the design of software and firmware
Hands-on experience in firmware designs involving FPGA and system-on-chip (SoC) devices, for instance, Intel and AMD products
Proficiency in HDL languages like Verilog and VHDL
Expertise in HDL design environments, such as Intel Quartus, AMD Vivado, or Efinix Efinity
Mastery of HDL simulation tools like Siemens Modelsim or Questa
Sound comprehension of embedded software, particularly in the realm of bare-metal C++ for ARM and RISC-V architectures, alongside expertise in embedded LINUX
Thorough understanding of software workflows, encompassing GIT-based version control, KANBAN boards, issue tracking, and related methodologies
The capability to remain current with the latest strides in technology and design innovations
Qualification:
Degree in Electronic Engineering/Computer Engineering, or similar
Minimum 5+ years of experience in a similar role
Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
