Provide technical accounting insights and updates to Barloworld Equipment finance community
Liaise with auditors on technical accounting opinions and on matters raised
Compiling technical accounting opinions and position papers
Reporting to Barloworld Group Finance Technical Accounting Manager on any matters required by Group
Ensuring BWE is complying and applying International Financial Reporting Standards
Manage and oversee consolidation of BWE Southern Africa Results
Support and guidance to Rest of Africa regions on reporting financial results
Ensuring that southern Africa management reporting is complete and accurate, and deadlines met
Manage financial reporting system updates and upgrades
Reviewing and releasing journals done by reportees
Attending and presenting monthly forex results to Forex Committee
Reviewing monthly forex results presentation
Reviewing and signing off all General Ledger reconciliations relating to Treasury team
Ad hoc quality review of treasury reporting of Rest of Africa
Implement strategic finance reporting and treasury system initiatives
Review and approve forex purchases by forex dealer
Manage and implement and ensure adherence to the Treasury Policy
Develop, manage, implement and ensure hedging strategy is up to date
Ensuring accuracy and completeness of treasury reporting monthly including analysis of forex gains and losses
Manage and oversee consolidation Forex related entries/lines of BWE Southern Africa for budgets and forecast
Review hedge accounting and adherence to accounting standards
Attending to ad-hoc requests from Finance Managers and Barloworld Group Finance
Providing assistance and support during the budget process
Interacting with internal and external auditors and offering support during financial reporting periods
Employee / Staff management, development and performance reviews
Maintenance of good supplier relationships
Management of the facilities and related processes.
CA(SA) with at least 5 years post article experience
Minimum two years' experience managing treasury function
Minimum two years' experience technical accounting reporting
Minimum two years' experience in managing consolidated reporting
Minimum Required Competencies:
Strategic Leadership (L3).
Knowledge and experience in using SAP
Accuracy and attention to detail
Strong Technical Accounting experience
Strong Treasury Management experience and hedge accounting
Good communication skills
Good People Skills
Problem solving skills
Ability to work under pressurised circumstances and to meet deadlines
Experience in managing staff
