Senior Finance Associate - Cape TownFull job descriptionSENIOR FINANCE OFFICERAdolescent and Young People (AYP) Programme: April 2022 - March 2025Amandla Development a non-profit organization empowering adolescent and young people in Philippi and Mitchells Plain is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role listed below, for the Adolescent & Young People [AYP] "My Journey" Programme based in Cape Town. The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership experience, showing they can support the implementation of a 2-year grant (until March 2025), under the AYP Global Fund programme.As the Senior Finance Officer, you will proactively drive a strategy of consistently communicating the financial health of the organisation to management and provide supervision and guidance for the department. In addition to updating precise spending, you will also keep management abreast of deficits and reallocations in accordance with funder requirements.You will also be responsible for recording and capturing financial transactions, maintaining financial records and processing payments as well as preparing financial reports, which include: Global Fund support documentation checks & review Financial Analysis & Budget insights & trends; variance analysis Capturing budgets in SAGE Accounting system Capturing journals in SAGE Credit card reconciliations Tracking Global Fund expenditure against budget Dissemination of programme expense reports & analysis Cash flow management Tracking Finance KPIs for weekly meetings Supporting operations with annual budgets Supporting operations with annual audit Direct supervision of Finance officer Support operations in preparing VAT submissions, board and management reports Implementing financial systems and standard operating proceduresThe requirements for this position are:A Finance or Accounting Degree and/or a professional Accounting qualification e.g. SAIPA; ACCA or CIMAAt least 2 -3 years' experience in a finance manager, accountant, or similar senior role, preferably gained within the non-profit sector.Proficiency with relevant accounting software Organisational management with the ability to coach staff and manage a budgetWilling to work in a township environmentIf you meet the above requirements, please your two-page CV together with a cover letter that outlines how you fit the job requirements, salary expectation, and most recent salary by 15 December.
