EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years facilities management or related field experience

Qualifications / Experience

  • Senior Certificate required
  • Technical Diploma (Any Trade) required
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in facilities management or related field
  • Management experience overseeing teams and facility operations essential
  • Project management experience with facility-related projects including renovations and maintenance
  • Industry experience in corporate, manufacturing, or automotive sectors beneficial
  • Technical hands-on experience with building systems and maintenance practices
  • Understanding of local, state, and federal regulations for building codes and safety standards
Essential Skills Requirements
  • Building Systems Knowledge: HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning), plumbing, electrical systems, fire safety systems
  • Maintenance Management: Preventive and corrective maintenance, maintenance management software proficiency
  • Project Management: Planning, execution, and monitoring of facility-related projects
  • Budgeting and Financial Management: Cost control and financial reporting for facility operations
  • Health and Safety Regulations: OHS regulations and safety standards compliance
  • Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership to manage teams and coordinate across departments
  • Problem-Solving: Quick issue identification and effective solution implementation
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication with staff, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Negotiation Skills: Contract negotiation and vendor relationship management

  • Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) Software for space management and asset tracking
  • Building Management Systems (BMS) for monitoring and controlling building systems
  • Energy Management Systems for optimizing energy use and sustainability practices

  • Communication and collaboration tools for effective team management
  • Sustainability and environmental management practices
  • Emergency response planning and coordination

Role Requirements
  • Oversee daily facility operations ensuring all systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) function efficiently
  • Manage maintenance schedules ensuring timely completion of repairs and preventive maintenance
  • Develop and manage facilities budget including expense forecasting and cost monitoring
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement operational expense reduction strategies
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Manage relationships with vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring service quality
  • Oversee procurement of supplies and equipment necessary for facility operations
  • Coordinate emergency response plans and procedures across all facilities
  • Organize drills and training sessions ensuring staff emergency preparedness
  • Implement sustainability practices reducing facility environmental impact
  • Monitor energy usage and identify energy efficiency improvement opportunities
  • Lead and manage facilities team providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
  • Foster positive work environment and promote teamwork among staff
  • Serve as primary point of contact for facility-related issues with effective stakeholder communication
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on facility performance, maintenance activities, and budget status
  • Utilize facility management software and technology to streamline operations
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in facility management technology
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by management
