Are you passionate about environmental management and looking to make a significant impact? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Environmental Scientist to join our dynamic team to support both our local and global business.



Key Responsibilities:

Project Involvement

: Lead and deliver discipline-specific input in various projects, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery.

Environmental Assignments

: Conduct detailed environmental studies, assessments, and prepare drawings and reports.

EIA/ESIA Development

: Oversee the development of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), including data review and compilation of baseline documentation.

Team Guidance

: Mentor junior environmental planners and environmental scientists, ensuring high-quality work and professional growth.

Stakeholder Engagement

: Lead public participation and stakeholder engagement processes, serving as the main interface with clients and competent authorities.

Technical Excellence

: Coordinate small to mid-size project teams, prepare project deliverables, and provide specialized technical input. Ensure high-quality, cost-effective work by following or developing environmental assessment procedures.

Client Relationship Management

: Build and maintain client relationships, attend client meetings, and participate in the development of bids and proposals.


Technical Skills:

Project Coordination

: Manage and coordinate project teams, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.

Environmental Assessments

: Conduct interdisciplinary reviews, apply legislative knowledge to manage environmental risks and obtain necessary approvals.

Problem Solving

: Use innovative approaches to solve problems and improve existing processes.

Quality Assurance

: Perform technical quality reviews of assessments, models, and surveys, adhering to corporate standards and safety regulations.


Minimum Requirements:

Experience

: 8+ years of relevant experience in environmental science or engineering.

Education

: Bachelor's degree in Science, Arts, or Engineering from an accredited university. A Master's degree is preferred but not required.

Professional Registration

: Registered as a Scientist with SACNASP and as an Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) with EAPASA in South Africa.
