Senior Engineering Foreman - RustenburgPURPOSE OF THE JOB:To co-ordinate, facilitate and liaise on a tactical level regarding engineering support services at UTSMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:Grade 12/ N3 with Maths and Science is essential.A recognised relevant Trade Qualification (Section 13/26D) OR proof of recognised completed apprenticeship contract (completed by means of effluxion of time) AND NTC 2/ (Relevant Trade Theory) Qualification AND Experience as a Foreman is essential.At least 10yrs experience as a mechanical or electrical foreman is essential.Computer literacy (MS Office, MS Project - Intermediate level) is essential.Problem Solving skills (root cause analysis & sound judgement) is essential.Organising and project Management Skills are essential.Experience as Senior Engineering Foreman or similar position is desirable.Valid medical certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate.COMPETENCIES:Principles of Project management knowledge is essential.Knowledge of basic health and safety principles in and around a workplace is essential.Experienced with investigations of incidents and accidents (ICAM) is desirable.Must be experienced in the VFL and ZSTOP process.Must be experienced in weekend labour and shutdown planning.KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:Manage a mechanical, electrical and projects departments with UTS: Safety, People, Planned maintenance, and Legal compliance.Manage overtime, working cost and renewals.Manage projects and contractors.Implement effective operational and tactical management principles and procedures.Quality control associated with all work.To achieve and maintain plant and equipment efficiency and running time.To implement contingency plans to reduce production losses.To implement effective operational and tactical management principles and proceduresTo effectively monitor via budgeting and project management methodologiesTo ensure compliance & review legislative and engineering standardsTo optimise process control systems by analysis of present systems for continuous upgrading and improvementTo develop and ensure compliance to mine standards, procedures and SHEQ principles.To ensure the effective control of sufficient critical sparesTo provide technical support and technical adviceTo ensure best practices in terms of people management are implemented and maintained amongst staff.To ensure effective cost control management in terms of equipment, vehicles, etc.
