Job Description

A well-established manufacturer in the mining industry is seeking a Senior Draughtsman to develop 3D models, detailed arrangements, and technical drawings for a wide range of solutions.
As the Senior Draughtsman, you will be responsible for creating detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and fabrication designs using SolidWorks. The role involves on-site measurements, developing engineering-compliant designs, modifying and refining drawings, generating Bills of Materials (BOMs), and collaborating with production and sales teams. Additionally, the position requires mentoring junior draughtsman and occasional travel.
Responsibilities:

• Create detailed mechanical designs and technical drawings using SolidWorks.
• Conduct on-site measurements of components and products.
• Develop general arrangement and detailed fabrication drawings to engineering specifications.
• Ensure all drawings comply with engineering standards and company requirements.
• Collaborate with production teams to refine and improve designs.
• Modify and revise drawings as required.
• Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Assist engineers in preparing project drawings and support the sales team with information drawings.
• Provide guidance and support to junior draughtsmen.
• Travel locally and internationally when required.

Requirements:

• Red Seal Certificate in Fitting & Turning (essential).
• Minimum 5 years of post-trade experience as a Fitter & Turner.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical/structural draughting.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks (Inventor/Vault experience is beneficial but not required).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical components.
• Valid driver's license and own reliable vehicle (essential).
• Computer literacy and the ability to manage design files efficiently.
