You will partner with leading nonprofits, government and non-governmental funding sources, and thought leaders to bring the best of 2U to help advance our mission of increasing access to education.

You will also implement our corporate giving strategy and monitor best practices and trends in order to identify and pursue new opportunities that increase 2U's social impact. Reporting to the VP of Social Impact & Innovation, you will have the opportunity to be a strategic thought partner as you work to build the company's social impact strategy from the ground up.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

While also developing the goals, plans, partnerships, and assessment frameworks used to enact and measure change that is systematic, sustainable, and innovative.
  • Build meaningful pathways for collective impact partner engagement.

  • Work cross-functionally, specifically with Brand, Marketing & Partnerships, to develop authentic storytelling practices, partnering to develop social impact content that highlights 2U's commitments and progress.
Things That Should Be In Your Background:
  • A strategic doer: you're just as good at building a vision and strategy for social impact as you are at rolling up your sleeves and executing with clear goals, precision, speed and accountability.
  • A genuinely passionate, curious leader with a strong track record in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE), or Social Impact (including community engagement, workforce, and philanthropy), giving you a keen understanding of global and local trends in this space.
  • Adept at nurturing relationships with funding partners to close new business and encourage contract renewals.
  • Able to identify new opportunities and innovative ideas for driving social impact, and can clearly communicate those ideas, concepts and proposals to engage employees, Sr. Leaders and the broader community.
  • Have superb analytical and planning skills, including the ability to develop investment cases, have been responsible for the development of impact metrics and assessment measures, and have effectively identified gaps and opportunities related projects and programs.
  • Thrive in the challenge of independently tackling ambiguous problems, all while delivering clarity and focus for a broad range of stakeholders, including employees, senior leaders, and the broader community.
  • Adept at navigating the intricacies of working cross-functionally with a wide range of teams and senior leaders in a fast paced environment where the ability to build trust, influence and relationships is critical to success.
