PG Bison NECF in Ugie Eastern Cape is looking for a qualified and experienced Senior Diesel Mechanic who has the following skills, knowledge and experience:
Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics. Strong leadership and people management skills. Excellent planning, organizing and reporting abilities. Knowledge of workshop safety, audits and compliance requirements Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be detail-oriented, reliable and proactive. Must have own toolbox and personal tools. Good hand and eye co-ordination Ability to work under pressure Basic Firefighting Certificate (advantageous)
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 Diesel Mechanic Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal) Valid Driver's Licence (Code 10/14 advantageous) Minimum 3 - 5 years of post-trade experience
Duties & Responsibilities
Supervise and Lead Workshop Staff (Mechanics and assistants) Update and maintain workshop reports, vehicle service schedules, and overtime records. Book vehicles and equipment for service and inspections. Ensure parts ordered are fitted to the correct vehicle/equipment. Conduct weekly safety audits, maintain toolbox talk register, and keep safety files updated. Maintain housekeeping standards in the workshop. Inspect and maintain the workshop tool register. Perform hands-on mechanical repairs and maintenance as required. * Work overtime and perform standby duties when required.
