Job Description

Job Summary Engage in the design of RF & Microwave subsystems, encompassing components like power amplifiers, low phase noise synthesizers, up converters, low noise receivers, radar front ends, antennas, and filters. These designs will be executed on Printed Circuit Boards, in waveguide structures, or as coaxial components, all within the framework of a multidisciplinary project team Execute the implementation, measurement, and evaluation of prototype or production-ready designs Contribute to the industrialization of prototype designs Provide technical expertise to support system engineers Take part in system-level or conceptual design activities Undertake the role of an RF element leader within a project team Coordinate and engage in design reviews Generate and maintain documentation including specifications, design data packs, and test procedures Offer expertise for internal training specific to the discipline when relevant Provide mentoring and technical guidance to fellow discipline members, including interns Assist in the technical facets of generating company proposals/quotations for marketing and sales purposes Initiate or participate in the establishment of critical technologies within the company Skills & Experience: A minimum of 8 years' expertise in RF & Microwave engineering, encompassing pertinent involvement in design and execution, design methodologies, management of design baselines, system engineering elements, configuration management, quality assurance, and proficiency with relevant technologies and tools of the trade Familiarity with antenna design is considered beneficial Demonstrating a robust analytical design approach Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (with a preference for Altium Designer) Familiarity with the subsequent software is seen as advantageous: Microwave Office, CST, LT Spice, Matlab/Python, DOORS Possessing experience in working with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, power meters, noise figure meters, and phase noise meters Qualification: Ndip/Degree in RF Engineering Post-grad masters degree or PhD is preferred Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
