Mechatronics Engineer

The opportunity:

This role will be responsible for driving the Logistics divisionxe2x80x99s pursuit of Industry 4.0 initiatives and the future of logistics automation strategy. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, this role forms an integral part of the management teamxe2x80x99s pursuit of continuous improvements based on technology advancement within the logistics and supply chain operations across our Gauteng distribution centres. The longer-term goal for this role will be to establish world-class technologies that will drive productivity up and cost down and assist the division to demonstrate best in class practices. The team culture is one of being highly adaptable, creative and be flexible to the constant changing needs of the division and being highly responsive and strategic.

Responsibilities:

• RFID deployment within Logistics, working with the Group and divisional directive.

• Enable the networking of distribution centre assets for the benefit of optimizing and facilitating Big Data and IOT.

• Research and present new technologies that will improve productivity and cost reduction within the Logistics division.

• Technology R&D in line with our operational optimization.

Requirements:

• Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent

• 3 xe2x80x93 5 years minimum with a proven track record of working as a mechatronics engineer.

• Specific knowledge of RFID technology.

• Programming in Python, PLC, Network and connectivity setup, data analytics

• Linux, PLC programming Power BI or Pyramid, Data Basis

• Familiar with Industrial Communication protocols (such as ProfiNet, ProfiBus ,Ethernet/IP & AS-Interface)

• Basic Electricity Competency (3 phase vs Single phase)

• Differentiate between Single phase and 3 phase Motor.
