The main function of the Worley Civil field engineer is to provide co-ordination between the site construction team and the Worley design home office engineering team. The role is not to replace the Exxaro appointed field engineer but to support this role to respond to technical queries (TQ).
With the construction management and supervision being undertaken by Exxaro, the role of Worley's Civil Field Engineering during the construction phase, will be as follows:
Co-ordination between the site construction team and the Worley design home office engineering team.
Input into the Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) of the contractor, Allowance has been made for 5 packages ITPs. (EW/Box cut, Silo, Conveyors, Support Complex and Tunnels)
Review of datasheets of materials to be used in construction
Review of construction plans and procedures
Inspections of supplier fabrications
Review and approval on concession with regards to civil earthworks and structural concrete works
Review and response to engineering site queries with regards to earthworks and structural concrete works
Punch the relevant scope items and issue punch items for correction to Exxaro. Upon completion and sign-off of all punch items, the Worley engineer shall formally accept the relevant scope items, if punch items categories 1 and 2 are still open the acceptance certificate will be withheld until punch item are worked off
Review of the overall data pack for the relevant structure for completeness; and
* The Worley engineer shall review the red line drawing issued by Exxaro and correlate this back to the final inspection and acceptance of the scope item, if the red lines are poor and do not capture all the modifications, they will be returned for Exxaro to source all the updated data for incorporation into as-built drawings. Any changes are subject to Change Management procedures. Red line incorporation into the as-built drawings is excluded from this scope.
