Job Description

As a Senior Civil Estimator, you will play a crucial role in their pre-construction phase, developing detailed cost estimates for a variety of infrastructure and civil engineering projects. You will liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to analyze project requirements, assess risks, and ensure the financial viability of each bid.
Duties:

• Lead the preparation of accurate and competitive estimates for civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, earthworks, and utilities.
• Conduct thorough cost analysis, risk assessments, and value engineering.
• Interpret project drawings, specifications, and contracts to develop comprehensive estimates.
• Source and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and design teams to optimize project feasibility.
• Ensure that estimates align with industry standards, company policies, and client requirements.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, material costs, and construction methodologies.
• Support business development efforts by providing cost insights and strategic input during bid preparation.

What Were Looking For:

• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in civil estimating, preferably within a contractor environment.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of civil construction processes, materials, and pricing structures.
• Software Skills: Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Candy, CostX, or similar) and MS Office Suite.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to review and interpret complex project specifications and drawings accurately.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client and stakeholder engagement.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and negotiation skills to optimize cost estimates and project profitability.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while also managing independent tasks.
