Description

Manage and run a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Prepare, cook, and present dishes consistently to the required quality and standards. Supervise, guide, and train Commis Chefs and junior staff within the section. Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness (HACCP compliance). Ensure mise en place is prepared and maintained for each service. Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and ensure proper rotation to minimize wastage. Collaborate with the Sous Chef and Head Chef on menu planning, costing and new dish development. Uphold kitchen discipline, teamwork, and professional standards at all times.

Minimum requirements.Grade 12 certificate or equivalent Culinary arts certificate or diploma preferred 3-5 years' experience as a Chef de Partie in a professional kitchen. Proven track record in at least one section (e.g., grill, sauce, larder, pastry) with ability to handle multiple sections if needed. Experience in high-volume OR fine dining kitchens, depending on the type of establishment. Supervisory experience - ability to lead commis chefs and apprentices.
