Job Description

Our client requires the services of a suitably qualified Senior Carpenter. The ideal candidate will need demonstrate the following attributes:

Supervisory experience Teamwork and collaboration Attention to detail Physical fitness and stamina Basic Carpentry Knowledge Safety Awareness Adaptability Manual Dexterity Reliability and punctuality Effective communication Time Management Willingness to learn Problem solving and initiative High quality craftsmanship English proficiency Key Duties and Responsibilities Include (but not limited to): Manage and lead a team effectively Proactively plan, manage construction sites, materials and consumables Prepare daily and weekly progress reports and Job Completion reports Attend site meetings and internal startup meetings as well as bi-weekly progress meetings online Construct, Repair and install structures and fixtures eg. Decking, flooring, pergolas, balustrade and cladding Measurement and layout: accurately measure and mark materials for cutting and assembly Material preparation: cut, shape and assemble materials according to specifications Installation: install finished products such as structures, decking, flooring, pergolas, balustrade and cladding Maintenance and repair: perform maintenance and repair tasks on existing structures and fixtures Safely and efficiently operate a variety of hand tools and machinery Accurately read and interpret blueprints, drawings and technical documents Clean and maintain work areas, tools and equipment Ensure all work completed in compliance with building codes, safety regulations and project requirements Adhere to all company and site-specific policies and procedures
Minimum Requirements:

Matric (or Vocational Training - preferably in Carpentry) Minimum of 7 years experience in similar role/industry Valid Drivers' license (EB/C1) with valid PrDP
Market-related salary will be dependant on skill level and experience.

Note that this position is for applicants currently residing in Western Cape only.
