Purpose of the Role:
The Senior Buyer plays a critical role in shaping the product offering and overall strategy of the specialty toy retailer. This position is responsible for selecting and procuring a diverse range of toys that align with the companys brand values and market positioning. The role requires a deep understanding of both physical store dynamics and e-commerce trends, ensuring that the product assortment is tailored to meet the needs of customers across multiple sales channels.
The Senior Buyer will drive profitable growth, enhance customer satisfaction, and ensure that the company remains competitive in a fast-paced retail environment.

Skills Required:
Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to secure favorable terms with suppliers.

Strong understanding of both physical retail and e-commerce dynamics.
Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
Strategic thinking with the ability to align buying decisions with overall business goals.
Proficiency in relevant software, including purchasing systems and inventory management tools.
Experience:
A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in buying, purchasing, or merchandising within the retail industry, preferably in toys or a related category.
Experience managing a product assortment for both brick-and-mortar stores and online platforms.
Proven track record of driving sales growth and profitability through strategic product selection.
Experience working with suppliers and negotiating contracts at a senior level.
Knowledge of the toy industry, including key brands, safety regulations, and market trends, is highly desirable.
