Senior Backfill Engineer

Job Description
Job Summary Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and analysis of mine backfill systems (paste, hydraulic, and cemented rock fill) for underground operations
- Provide technical leadership on feasibility studies, detailed designs, and construction support
- Review and develop technical specifications, engineering calculations, and tender documents
- Manage and mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
- Conduct site visits for audits, investigations, and implementation support
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and client requirements
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met
- BEng degree in Mining, Civil, or Geotechnical Engineering
- Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng)
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in backfill engineering, preferably within a consulting environment
- Strong technical background in the design and implementation of underground backfill systems
- Proficiency in relevant engineering design software and modelling tools
- Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills
