Job Description

A leading Information Technology and Business Consulting firm, that specializes in cutting-edge technologies and delivers tailored solutions to organizations across both public and private sectors, is looking for a Senior AWS Solutions Architect to join their team in the heart of Johannesburg North.
Duties:

• Design and implement AWS cloud-based solutions, ensuring best practices and security standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend AWS services and third-party tools to meet business needs.
• Develop architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and design specifications.
• Lead the migration of on-premises applications to AWS.
• Optimize AWS environments for cost, performance, and reliability.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for proactive issue resolution.

Key Focus Areas:

• Cloud architecture
• DevOps
• Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)

Required Qualifications:

• Experience:

• 7+ years in cloud architecture, primarily focused on AWS
• 5+ years in cost optimization and solution tuning within cloud environments
• Certification:

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional or Associate) or equivalent
• Education:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in a quantitative or technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or Finance

Technical Competencies:

• Expertise in designing and deploying complex, cloud-native applications and microservices
• Deep hands-on experience with core AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, etc.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking, security, and compliance best practices
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or AWS CDK
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Strong analytical thinking and effective communication skills
