Senior Attendant: Animal Facility and Study Support - Clinvet South Africa Clinvet SA is widely regarded as one of the leading animal health CRO's globally. We are recruiting two (2) Senior Attendants for a fixed term period of six (6) months within our Animal Facility Operations and Study Support Department at Clinvet South Africa at our Bloemfontein site.
Primary Job Purpose Cleaning of animal facilities providing food and water to animals and animal handling
Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleaning animal facilities, stores, and equipment as well as speciality cleaning such as isolation areas by following set instructions and procedures to prevent contamination, achieve and maintain a clean, orderly and audit ready facility at all times and maintain and optimise animal health and wellbeing
• Providing food and water to all animals in the facility to ensure healthy and well-cared for animals
• Interact with and handle animals to ensure content, well-adjusted and cared for animals housed in the correct appointed facilities
• Handling, stacking and storage of animal feed
• Handling of laundry, animal bedding, clothing, and other materials to ensure a clean and healthy environment
• Handling and disposing of waste materials in order to comply with biosafety and other health and environmental regulations and to prevent contamination
• Record and handle raw data to ensure accurate and consistent information for departmental and study use
• Record and report any observed or concerning incidents, maintenance faults and issues impacting animal health, biosafety, injuries, and other relevant company operations
• If required, assist with intensive cleaning and decontamination of animal housing, equipment and/or a facility (final cleaning) as determined by operation requirements, ensuring that such is properly decontaminated and cleaned
• Maintain and replace environmental enrichment, replenish facility consumable and equipment

Qualification and Experience Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent and at two (2) yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a similar role
• Relevant experience in the care and handling of dogs, cats and farm animals will be advantageous Confidently handle all types of animals and have an affinity for animals
