What would your role look like?

Provide application and technical support to internal and external stakeholders for the purpose of reaching and exceeding the sales budget in the Southern African region. This is a hybrid role split between the dairy application centre (Bellville South) and private home-office. Travel in South Africa, as well as occasional travel in Southern Africa and to UAE/Europe may be required.

Key Tasks:

  • Manage the Local Application Centre (LAC) in Cape Town, South Africa
  • In close collaboration with the sales team design, follow and execute customer generated projects and secure right data collection and validation to enable successful implementation of Chr. Hansen culture and/or enzyme solutions
  • Participate in technical presentations to customers, explaining the use of Chr. Hansen ingredients in food application
  • Provide excellent customer support for cultures and enzymes by plant visits, audits, and troubleshooting (phage audits etc.) when required
  • Responsible for sample requests, TSR submissions and the follow-up thereof
  • Provide timely internal and external customer related reports
  • Be able to read, collect data, analyse and interpret general business and technical information
  • Participate in monthly sales review meetings to discuss key projects and opportunities
  • In collaboration with global and local business development support, assist with the implementation of new product launches or concepts including PR activities, planning of customer seminars and local sales campaigns
  • Utilise Sales Force for project monitoring and interaction with CH colleagues
  • Travel up to 20% is required for this position
Who are we looking for?
  • Education & Experience: M.Sc/B.Sc in Food/Dairy Science with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
  • Practical experience in the dairy industry and a good theoretical understanding of dairy production processes is advantageous.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English is a requirement. Strong communication skills, via various channels, are a great advantage.
  • Position demands an individual with good analytical skills, a structured approach to tasks, high energy and flexibility in their schedule, good time management and task prioritization capabilities, willingness to learn and get involved in tasks beyond the formal scope of the role and a can-do attitude.
