Position Overview:

We are currently seeking an accurate, self-driven, experienced, and thorough accountant to join our rapidly growing company. In this role, you will need to demonstrate your expertise in a variety of accounting practices, including reporting, statutory audits, data analysis and problem solving skills. To succeed in this position, you will need to be highly efficient and add value to the finance team. This position will report to the CEO- South Africa.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data.
  • Head the effective and timely completion of NCR and FSCA audits.
  • Compilation of various reports for management.
  • Substantiate financial transactions by compiling documentation for audits.
  • Completion of monthly reconciliations as working papers for the management accounts.
  • Compilation of annual financial statements.
  • Submission of monthly and annual statutory SARS returns for group entities e.g. dividend, income tax, payroll and vat return.
  • Maintain financial security by following internal controls and updating accurate cashflows and budgets.
  • Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Comply with financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Scrutinize the accuracy of reporting and report on findings and ways on improving.
  • Monthly collections and disbursement reconciliation.
  • Document financial transactions by processing accounting information.
  • Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Guide accounting staff by coordinating activities and answering questions
Qualifications:
  • 3 - 5 years micro finance industry experience in the Finance Team (Compulsory)
  • Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in accounting (Compulsory)
  • In depth experience with NCR and FSCA audits
  • Sage One experience (Advantageous)
  • Strong Microsoft Skills Excel skills
  • Reporting skills
  • Expense analysis
  • Corporate and personal tax experience e.g. submission of various tax returns, disputes, audits and objections
  • Budget creation, and expense analysis
