The following vacancy is available at Iszipharm Pharmaceutical Distributors SENIOR BOOKKEEPER Requirements Must have an Accounting degree 3-5 years relevant work experience Must have in-depth knowledge of accounting systems and best practices Computer literacy essential, with good MS excel skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills This position requires attention to detail, results orientated and well organized Experience in working on Pastel will be advantageous Experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry will be an advantage Key outputs Evaluate, monitor and improve internal control systems to ensure that all risks to the
company are minimized. Identify risk areas and implement controls and systems to address these. Facilitate and coordinate the bi-annual stock take Ensure that the inventory system is adequately updated with new balances and oversee the process of investigating variances Process all income, expense, asset and liability journals as required for the accounting
records to reflect accurately Overall responsibility to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the accounting records (trial
balance) on Pastel Prepare monthly management accounts for management Review monthly creditors and debtors reconciliations Reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis Ensure all monthly reconciliation accounts are submitted Prepare the annual budget Prepare income and cost statements for management Analyze general ledger accounts and approve supplier payments Submit all statutory returns within deadlines, including VAT and EMP returns Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register Monitor bank accounts and ensure adequate liquidity Manage the external audit process, including preparing the audit file and audit schedules
as requested by the external auditors Manage the BEE verification process Negotiate terms with suppliers and other 3rd parties Negotiate terms with bankers Extrapolate errors in price file and initiate remedial action. Opening of supplier accounts, review and complete credit application forms Manage staff in Debtors, Creditors and Accounts Department Manage the collection of funds to be received from Debtors and monitor long
outstanding Debtors Complete month end analysis for purchases, sales and logistic fees Managing Insurance Administration The employee is required to perform reasonable duties on request by management even if it falls outside of the scope of the job description. The employee must provide his/her own transport.
