is hiring a Senior Account Executive to drive new revenue by sourcing, closing, and growing employer customers.
Jem is a fast-growing HR tech scale-up building payroll, HR, and benefits tools for frontline teams. We currently support just under 200,000 frontline employees across South Africa.
This is a core revenue role at Jem. We are looking for a strong closer who can own the full sales cycle end to end, from first contact to signed customer, while building long-term commercial relationships in the market.
This role is suited to someone who is commercially sharp, highly self-directed, and motivated by winning deals, growing accounts, and building a category-defining company.
? Your Mission
Drive new revenue by consistently closing high-quality employer customers.
Own the full sales cycle, build a strong pipeline, and convert opportunities into long-term Jem customers.
? What Success Looks Like
Consistent achievement or overachievement of monthly and quarterly MRR targets
A healthy, accurate, and well-managed sales pipeline
Short sales cycles with high-quality deal conversion
Strong customer relationships that lead to long-term retention and expansion
Clear, consistent feedback from the market into product and leadership teams
? What You'll Do
Prospect and qualify new employer customers through research, cold outreach, networking, and referrals
Build and manage your own pipeline across inbound and outbound leads
Run discovery calls, demos, and presentations tailored to customer needs
Own the full sales process from first contact through to signed contract
Lead commercial discussions, negotiations, and deal structuring
Maintain accurate CRM data, forecasts, and follow-up actions
Track performance against targets and report on progress
Monitor market and competitor activity to sharpen sales strategy
Partner with marketing, sales, and leadership to improve lead generation and conversion
Share structured customer feedback with product and service teams

Have a proven track record in B2B SaaS sales with consistent quota achievement
Are confident owning deals end to end with minimal oversight
Enjoy prospecting, relationship-building, and closing
Are commercially sharp and comfortable negotiating

Are resilient, organised, and outcome-driven
Care about building long-term customer partnerships, not just transactions
? Requirements
Proven experience in B2B SaaS or technology sales
Strong negotiation, objection-handling, and closing skills
Experience managing CRM systems and sales pipelines
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building ability
Comfort operating in a startup or scale-up environment

Hybrid work environment with a 3-day office policy in the Cape Town or Johannesburg ofice.
Competitive salary (R80,000 - R100,000 monthly base salary, with commission on top of that).
