Job Summary Experience
The successful incumbent must possess at least five (5) yearsxe2x80x99 experience working as a Security Superintendent within the mining sector
Formal qualifications

• Qualification in Security
• Matric
• Valid driver's licence
• A valid medical certificate certifying the incumbentxe2x80x99s fitness status to work on surface and or underground

Responsibilities
Support the Security Manager in the following:

• The development, implementation and management of the overall company security strategy and its associated architecture
• Develop and implement policies, standards and guidelines related to company security
• Liaise with government security agencies and conduct intelligence gathering on crime trends and update employees accordingly
• Deputise for the Security Manager as the focal point for security events and emergency response planning and execution
• Oversee the continuous monitoring and protection of company assets. Evaluate suspected security breaches and recommend corrective actions(including incidents involving contractors)
• Oversee the development and implementation of security awareness and training program
• Conduct security audits, risk assessments and submit report to the manager for consideration
• Define and implement an ongoing risk assessment program that will define, identify and classify critical assets, threats and vulnerabilities regarding the assets with protection measures
• Conduct investigations and submit reports on security incidents

Job Responsibilities

• Provides supervision and instructions to security officers on the operations of the access control and surveillance systems
• Monitors and maintains all security systems
• Maintains Post Orders for security
• Conducts Performance Test evaluations on department employees, procedures and equipment for the security department
• Assists the Security Manager in establishing Performance Data and assessing vulnerability to Threat assessments

Inherent requirements for the position

• Must be able to work and think independently
• Must possess strong leadership and motivational skills
• Experience in security operations including communications, access control, surveillance systems, good report writing skills
• Must possess Security Certification or complete certification as soon as possible. Strong planning and organizational skills
• A proven ability to work unsupervised and operate with a degree of autonomy
• Strong leadership skills
• A proactive approach and a willingness to work outside the job specification when required
• Honesty and reliability
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
