The Security Operations Manager oversees, coordinates, and manages the company's security operations to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, client expectations, and internal policies. The role ensures the effective deployment, supervision, and performance of security personnel while maintaining operational excellence, service delivery, and regulatory compliance.
2. Key Responsibilities:
A. Operational Oversight
Manages and oversees daily security operations across all sites.
Work with Supervisors to ensure all security personnel are deployed as per client requirements and contractual obligations.
Conducts regular site visits, inspections, and audits to assess performance, compliance, and service quality.
Coordinates operational logistics and liaise with Supervisors on shift planning, rostering, replacements, and manpower allocation.
Resolves operational challenges promptly to maintain uninterrupted service delivery.
B. Staff Management & Performance
Supervises, motivates, and disciplines operational staff, including Site Supervisors and Security Officers.
Conducts performance evaluations, coaching, and competency assessments.
Ensures all employees adhere to company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
Facilitates training, development, and skills upgrading where required.
C. Compliance & Regulatory Requirements
Ensures full compliance with PSIRA regulations, NBCPSS requirements, company policies, and client site rules.
Ensures all security personnel hold valid PSIRA certificates, firearm competencies (where applicable), and required training accreditations.
Monitors and maintains operational documentation, incident reports, occurrence books, and compliance registers.
Ensures adherence to the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other applicable legislation.
D. Client Relationship Management
Serves as the primary operational contact for all clients.
Attends client meetings, provides operational updates, and handles service-related concerns professionally.
Ensures that client expectations are met and exceeded through timely responses and proactive engagement.
Facilitates contract retention by maintaining high levels of service quality.
E. Incident & Risk Management
Responds to incidents, emergencies, and client escalations.
Performs investigations, compiles reports, and ensures corrective action where required.
Identifies security risks and recommends mitigation strategies to management and clients.
F. Reporting & Administration
Prepares operational reports, incident summaries, manpower status, and compliance documents.
Manages operational budgets, overtime, and resource allocation.
Ensures all operational records are accurate, current, and filed appropriately.
3. Minimum Requirements
PSIRA Grade B or higher (Grade A advantageous).
Minimum 5-10 years supervisory or managerial experience in the security industry.
Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, under pressure, and in high-demand environments.
Computer literacy (MS Office, emails, reporting systems).
Firearm competency and business-purpose certification.
