Job Description

Role responsibility:



The Contract Manager is primarily responsible to ensure that the region allocated to the role is deemed operationally efficient, that the contractual requirements are adhered to and security staff are fully trained, motivated and supported as per their specific job descriptions. Other responsibilities will include related administration, technology, incident management, HR, logistic, quality and financial management functions.

The successful incumbent has a strong character and able to make decisions with minimum input from senior management, is an excellent communicator in English and Afrikaans (technical, verbal, correspondence, report writing, client liaison) and has knowledge of complex industry trends, current security issues and security technology initiatives.

Functional Outputs:



Responsible for developing and maintaining effective security structures and measures.
Initiating or maintaining policies and procedures for general safety and security

Manage security contractors and their manpower activities. Oversee and manage the control room operations. Manage the access control function to site specifications and Standard Operating Procedures. Manage the operations linking the control room, guarding and rapid response functions. Conduct and close out investigations relating to security related or safety related matters including the liaison with authorities and emergency services. Ensure that staff are trained according to training requirement schedules and assessments are done to confirm competency.
Security systems including security patrols, surveillance systems, door locking mechanisms,
control of restricted areas, monitoring of master keys, etc.

Training of staff: select, train, schedule, discipline and direct security personnel in all aspects of security policies and procedures.

Inspections relating to hotel security

Attend Regular security meetings

Supervising the security team effectively checking that security staff do their jobs properly.

Maintaining good working relationships with management and members of other departments.

Keeping up-to-date with world news and hospitality security trends as well as various adhoc duties.

Qualifications:



Valid PSIRA Grade A certificate

Matric certificate/ Grade 12 Equivalent

Security Management certificate / Diploma or a relevant tertiary qualification is advantageous.

Valid Driver's Licence and Own reliable transport, including weekend and after-hour visits and audits

COC Preferable (Handgun, Shotgun and Rifle for Business Purposes) Skills

Skills



Computer literate and Proficient in Microsoft office (Word/Excel /Outlook/ PowerPoint )

Exceptional Management and Customer/ Client relation skills.

Plan, direct and coordinate operations on the allocated site

Minimum 5 years relevant experience on Large estates. (Residential)

Minimum 5 years previous Security Management Experience.

Proficient communication in both English and Afrikaans (verbal and written).

Report writing, investigation and auditing skills

Leadership, pro -active and strong client relationship skills

Ability to prioritise according to Operational Needs

A sound and proven understanding of security technology

Ability to meet challenging deadlines

Management of Security Service Level Agreements with clients to full compliance.
