The CID Security Contract Manager will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of the CID's approved business plan initiatives, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, and driving the continuous improvement of services within the district. Reporting directly the CID Manager and Byers Security Operations Director. Will lead a team of Public Safety officers and manage partnerships with service providers.
The CID Security Contract Manager will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of all aspects of physical security for the identified project. You will support the CID Manager and provide a professional interface with the Client and all relevant role players, ensuring that all the necessary protections are in place.
Responsibility for the operational aspects of the officers and Supervisory staff, including deployments, operations, training, undercover officers, events, and the effective use of the Impact members.
Role and Responsibility
To manage and provide effective leadership to the security team
Required resources and appropriately and efficiently allocated to key areas of work and that priorities are always covered adequately (including the undercover officers and Impact team members).
Provide thorough security briefings to the different shifts as part of the ongoing security threat analysis and identification of criminal hotspots, trends, and vulnerabilities.
Oversee effective redeployment of manpower resources as part of the continuous crime prevention strategies.
Performance and attendance issues are addressed at the correct time, in accordance with the relevant SOPs.
All training needs and identified and processed promptly and undertaken at the appropriate time.
Assist with the management of budgets to ensure it is properly controlled and managed, to achieve best value for money.
Performance Agreements are undertaken with the highest quality and to ensure that identified corrective action plans are timeously implemented and managed.
To maintain the Security Operations Manual up to date for use by all on site security personnel, to cover duties, individual instructions for each post, attendance, use of security equipment, dress standard, training, etc.
Represent the Security Service provider on all relevant scheduled and ad hoc meeting as and when required.
Ensure full compliance with required joint operations and ad hoc operations as request by the Client.
Act as focal point for any investigations involving security staff: to prepare reports and note required follow up actions.
Report all security breaches to the Operations Director and CID Manager; undertake full investigations; recommend course of action in consultation with the CID Manager.
Conduct regular inspections on security equipment and ensuring anything faulty is addressed in a priority manner ensuring that the high standards are met and in compliance with the Safety and Security SLA
Ensure that the appropriate level of training is provided to all security staff (including dedicated relievers).
Maintain the security team training plans up to date and test their knowledge of procedures regularly.
The role requires an individual who is flexible across all these areas and who can demonstrate high standards of professionalism and deliver a high-quality service. The jobholder will need to be willing to work flexibly to help others, take on different tasks where work pressures are high, cover leave absences and deal with emergencies. This can involve occasional security-related calls in the evenings and weekends.
Security professional with a proven management experience within the security industry
Enthusiastic and committed approach with a track record of building strong, trusted base relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
A sound working knowledge of security best practice and legislation (including applicable By-Laws.)
Strong management and leadership skills together with excellent communication, analytical, influencing, negotiating and engagement skills.
Sound judgement and decision-making skills, with a "hands on" problem solving approach, able to remain calm under pressure and take control of incidents.
Experience of writing procedures, drafting reports, and compiling and adjusting duty rosters to meet shortfalls in staffing levels.
