In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.Guided by our purpose and our values, we enable both high performance and purposeful action as we aim to xe2x80x9cre-imagine mining to improve peoplexe2x80x99s lives", delivering the metals and minerals that make modern life possible. -As a Section Manager Project Management SIB you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:Effective safety leadership and behaviour modelling for the project team, contractors and construction workforceThe development of an integrated plan (for the scope of work) incorporating all stakeholders and technical functions and in line with Anglo American standardsSet-up of required controls to ensure delivery against these standards and the objectives as defined in the project charterEffective leadership of cross-functional teams in line with the Anglo American valuesTransparent reporting of progress to stakeholdersProactively identifies changes in work scope and ensure appropriate planning measures are taken with internal and external clients to reassess and amend the scope of work requirement, budget, and timelineInvolves functional expertise and specialist staff in design reviews and key decisionsAssists in compiling a complete and accurate estimate of a projectAssists in managing the financial aspects of the project: budgeting, estimate to actual variance, capital project management, etcProvides inputs when analyzing the actual performance against the plan and make adjustments consistent with plan objectivesOrganizes the work into manageable activity clusters (phases)Determines an effective approach to completing the workAssists in preparing the project plan and obtain management approval.Determines project goals and priorities with management program manager and/or project sponsorsAssists in determining priorities among project activitiesAssists in the effectively coordinating the activities of the team to meet project milestoneThis role is in the Stay In Business Projects at a Band 6 level reporting to Manager SIBQualifications-Technical 3 year degree (NQF level 7)Qualification in Project ManagementDriver's Licence: Code B (Light Vehicle)Medically FitExperienceAt least 8-10 years years' Mining / Heavy industry construction management experienceExperience in managing projects that require multi-disciplinary engineering expertise.Significant exposure to SHE management of the construction environment under MHSA.Experience in Environment authorization related projectsCommercial exposure of contract negotiations and contract conditions Additional Information-What we offerWhen you join Anglo American, you can expect to enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package.
