Position:

LECTURER - HIGHER CERTIFICATE IN SCIENCE

Berea College of Technology, a registered and reputable higher education institution, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Lecturer for a newly introduced programme: Higher Certificate in Science.

Minimum Requirements:

A relevant qualification at NQF Level 7 or higher in Science or a closely related field (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, or related disciplines). A teaching qualification or recognised training in higher education pedagogy will be an advantage. At least 1-2 years' lecturing or teaching experience in a higher education or TVET environment (preferred). Knowledge of SAQA, DHET, and CHE requirements will be advantageous. Strong communication, facilitation, and academic writing skills. Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and online/blended teaching platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver lectures and facilitate learning for modules within the Higher Certificate in Science programme. Develop lesson plans, learning materials, assessments, and study guides in line with curriculum and regulatory requirements. Conduct assessments, moderation, and provide academic feedback to students. Participate in academic administration, student support, and quality assurance processes. Uphold academic integrity and comply with institutional policies and procedures.
