Programme Manager: School of IT Varsity College is an educational brand of The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE). The IIE enjoys the reputation of being at the forefront of private higher education in South Africa and is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) to provide higher education qualifications accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE). The IIE Varsity College, Westville Campus has a vacancy for Research Supervisors on the following programme:

• IIE Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences Honours

• Supervise students from the proposal stage through to submission of the final dissertation.
• Ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of the research and supervisory functions.
• Provide guidance to students on all aspects of the research journey.
• Guide the student on the planning and structure of the research report in accordance with the IIE guidelines (policy and process).
• Participation in the required supervisor training and workshops offered.
• Assist with the implementation of changes resulting from all review processes.
• Ensure successful submission and completion within the given timelines.
• Work closely with other staff members in the broader Research and Postgraduate Studies Unit.

• A Masters qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or Information Systems.

• Previous supervision experience of at least 5 Honours students.
• A track record of previous successful supervision should be submitted along with the application.
• At least 3 years work experience.
• Academic writing record (i.e articles, books etc).
• Understanding of academic publishing.
