Job Description

We looking for A Scale Operator which will be responsible for accurately weighing vehicles and materials, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with safety, legal standards and policies with our organization regarding various materials, specifically metals and plastics.

Key Responsibilities

Weighing Materials: Operate computerized or manual scales to weigh inbound and outbound vehicles and materials, ensuring accurate measurements are recorded for billing and inventory management.
Data Management: Record weight data and transaction details in a centralized database, WCS, and generating scale tickets and transaction receipts.
Inspection and Compliance: Inspect vehicles and materials for compliance and conduct inspections of loads to verify materials.
Traffic Coordination: Direct vehicle traffic on and off the scales to maintain a safe and efficient flow of operations at the facility.
Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning, basic maintenance, and calibration checks on scale equipment to ensure operational accuracy.
Dismantling: Knowledge of basic tools for striping and dismantling of various material loads for separation.

Qualifications

Education: A high school matric preferred and must be computer literate with knowledge of excel and other computer software.
Experience: Previous experience in similar roles is beneficial, experience with working with different metals and plastics also beneficial, Familiarity with computerized scale systems and computer data entry is advantageous.
Skills: Attention to detail, strong mathematical skills, and proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office) are essential for this role.

R7000 based on experience
