Job Description


As a regional sales manager in the electrical industry, your role is crucial in driving sales and achieving revenue targets within your designated region. Your responsibilities typically include:

Sales Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement effective sales strategies, plans, and objectives for your region in alignment with the overall organizational goals. This involves analyzing market trends, identifying opportunities, and setting sales targets.

Team Management: Lead and manage a team of sales representatives or account managers within your region. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure their success. Set performance goals, monitor their progress, and offer coaching when necessary.

Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and channel partners within your region. Understand their needs, address their concerns, and provide effective solutions to maximize customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Sales Promotion and Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base and increase market share. This may involve attending industry trade shows, conferences, and events, as well as actively networking with potential clients and partners.

Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Monitor and analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to forecast sales projections accurately. Prepare regular sales reports, including performance metrics, sales pipelines, and revenue forecasts, to provide insights to senior management.

Budgeting and Financial Management: Develop and manage the sales budget for your region, ensuring appropriate allocation of resources to achieve sales targets. Monitor expenses, control costs, and optimize profitability within your region.

Collaboration with Internal Teams: Collaborate with various internal teams such as marketing, product management, and customer support to align strategies, communicate customer feedback, and ensure smooth coordination for successful sales operations.

Industry Knowledge and Competitor Analysis: Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and changes in the electrical market. Conduct competitor analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, and market differentiators to enhance your sales strategies.

Training and Development: Continuously enhance your own knowledge and skills related to sales techniques, product knowledge, and industry developments. Provide training and development opportunities to your sales team to improve their capabilities and keep them motivated.

Compliance and Ethical Practices: Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards in all sales activities within your region. Uphold integrity, professionalism, and ethical behavior while representing the company.

Must have to apply:

Matric

South African

Engineering qualification or a technical trade

You need to have managed staff for a minimum of 5 years within a Sales Management role

Experience of travelling into SSA

Must have a sales track record that includes targets achieved per Q and per Year

Valid Passport

Ideal candidate would be fluent in English and Portuguese ( not a must have )

Able to present and close deals ( track record needs to be supplied )
