Job Summary Sales Manager (Hotel) - Cape Town Property Type: 5-Star City Hotel | Salary: R40,000 per month + performance bonus (from next financial year) | Basis: Live-out | Start: ASAP The Opportunity A landmark 5-star hotel in Cape Town is seeking a Sales Manager to drive revenue across MICE; leisure, and corporate segments. This role suits a results-driven hospitality sales professional with strong market networks, impeccable presentation, and a track record of closing high-value business. Key Responsibilities Revenue & Account Growth: Build, manage, and retain a high-value portfolio across MICE, leisure, and corporate markets; deliver against monthly/annual targets. Business Development: Proactively prospect, qualify, and convert new business; conduct sales calls, site inspections, client entertainment, and roadshows/trade shows. Sales Planning: Craft and execute segment-specific sales plans, activity calendars, and key account strategies; monitor competitor activity and market trends. Collaboration: Partner with Revenue, Reservations, Events, and Operations teams to ensure seamless client experiences and strong conversion. Reporting: Prepare accurate forecasts, pipeline updates, activity reports, and post-event ROI analyses. Brand Representation: Represent the hotel professionally in market and at industry events, safeguarding brand standards. Candidate Profile Experience: 3-5+ years' hotel sales experience with demonstrable success in MICE; leisure, and corporate segments. Network: Established trade and corporate relationships (local and international). Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation; strong commercial acumen and CRM discipline; comfortable with rate strategies/RFP cycles. Approach: Target-focused, self-motivated, and able to work independently and cross-functionally; flexible to travel and host clients after hours when required. Tech: Proficient with MS Office and common hotel CRM/sales platforms (e.g., Delphi/Opera Sales, Salesforce, or similar). Based in Cape Town/surrounding area and must be eligible to work in South Africa.
