The Opportunity
SQ1 Recruitment is partnering with an established, specialist construction solutions business to appoint a Senior Sales Manager to lead and grow its national sales function.
This is a senior, strategic role suited to an accomplished sales leader from the construction or fenestration environment who understands the full construction value chain -- from specification and design through to fabrication, installation, and delivery on complex projects.
The role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful commercial impact within a technically sophisticated, project-driven business operating at the upper end of the market.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a national sales and growth strategy aligned to revenue, margin, and market expansion objectives
Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales team, driving accountability and performance
Drive business development and specification-led sales across commercial, residential, and large-scale development projects
Build and maintain senior relationships with developers, contractors, architects, fabricators, installers, and key industry stakeholders
Identify new market opportunities, strategic partnerships, and routes to market
Manage the full sales lifecycle -- from opportunity identification and technical consultation through to negotiation, deal closure, and handover
Work closely with operations, technical, and finance teams to ensure delivery excellence and customer satisfaction
Track sales performance, forecasts, and market trends, providing insight and reporting to executive leadership
Represent the business at relevant industry events, forums, and stakeholder engagements.
Requirements
Candidate Requirements
Senior-level sales leadership experience within the construction, building materials, or fenestration sector
Strong understanding of the end-to-end construction value chain (developers, contractors, fabricators, installers, and specifiers)
Proven track record of driving growth, leading teams, and delivering against ambitious commercial targets
Strategic, commercially astute, and comfortable operating in a project-based sales environment
Strong people leadership capability with experience building and developing successful sales teams
Exposure to fenestration is highly advantageous; senior construction sales leaders open to specialist product training will also be considered
Willingness to travel nationally as required.

Total package up to R1.5 million per annum, dependent on experience
