Sales Executive

Job Description

We are seeking a results-driven Sales Executive to grow and manage our client base within the construction, mining, agriculture, water supply, and industrial sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building long-term client relationships, and achieving sales targets. This role also involves providing valuable market insights, maintaining accurate sales records, and ensuring customer satisfaction and retention. Key Responsibilities Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across target sectors. Build, maintain, and strengthen strong relationships with existing and prospective clients. Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets as set by management. Conduct client presentations, product demonstrations, and site visits where required. Gather and analyze market intelligence, including competitor activities and customer needs, to support business growth. Prepare and deliver accurate sales forecasts, activity reports, and pipeline updates. Negotiate contracts and close deals to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. Provide after-sales support, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business. Collaborate with internal teams (technical, operations, finance) to deliver seamless client solutions.
Key Requirements Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field (preferred). Minimum 35 years proven sales experience, ideally in construction, mining, agriculture, water supply, or industrial sectors. Knowledge of piping solutions and water infrastructure is highly advantageous. Strong understanding of sales principles, negotiation techniques, and business development strategies. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with SAGE or similar ERP systems will be an advantage. Valid drivers license and willingness to travel extensively. Skills & Competencies Strong sales and business development skills with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets. Ability to build trusted, long-term relationships with clients. Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills. Strong market analysis and commercial awareness. Ability to explain technical products in a clear, customer-focused manner. Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills. Performance Metrics Achievement of individual and team sales targets. Customer satisfaction and retention rates. Number of new clients onboarded. Market share growth within designated sectors. Accuracy of sales forecasts and reporting. Working Conditions & Benefits Hybrid working model: 1 day in office, 4 days on the road meeting clients. Provident fund provided (no medical aid at present). Petrol allowance included. Competitive salary package (negotiable based on current earnings) plus commission structure.
