Sales and Proposals Engineer required with experience in the Turnkey Projects and Materials Handling environment. Mechanical Technician/Engineer required with solid knowledge and skills in material handling systems. The person we are looking for will assist the management team with technical proposals and tenders within the Bulk Materials Handling Industry.

The sales and Proposals engineer will work with the sales team and colleagues from a range of departments such as design, production, purchasing, quality, and senior company managers.
Qualifications and experience

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in proposal engineering or project management within the material handling industry.
• Knowledge of material handling systems.
• Strong analytical skills to assess project requirements and develop cost-effective solutions.
• Basic Skill in CAD software for creating PFDs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities and tasks

• Promptly respond to client inquiries related to material handling systems, including conveyors, storage solutions, and automation.
• Gather detailed requirements and specifications to propose suitable solutions.
• Develop comprehensive bids for material handling system projects, encompassing technical specifications, layout drawings, equipment lists, and cost estimates.
• Manage the proposal process to meet deadlines for submitting quotes and bids.
• Collaborate with internal teams, to finalize proposals promptly.
• Create clear and accurate Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) to illustrate the layout and functionality of proposed material handling systems.
• Incorporate feedback from design engineers and clients to refine PFDs as needed.

Additional Information:

• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing material handling systems is preferred.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings or site visits may be required.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities is essential.
