SAIPA Accountant required in Durbanville, Cape Town.
Are you a detail-oriented and experienced SAIPA Registered Professional Accountant looking for a new opportunity?
Based in the Northern Suburbs we require a hands-on finance professional to manage and oversee all financial and operational accounting functions of a new opportunity with our client.
Fluency in both Afrikaans and English is required, and own reliable transport is essential.
Requirements:
Completed SAIPA Articles
Registered as a Professional Accountant (SAIPA)
BCom Accounting or related degree (completed)
Minimum 10 years' experience in a corporate accounting environment
Proven experience in leading small to medium teams
Demonstrated track record in full-function accounting and compliance.
Strong working knowledge of Pastel Accounting, Microsoft Excel, and Word
Excellent understanding of South African tax and compliance regulations
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
Having reliable transport is essential.
Fluent in Afrikaans and English (both written and spoken).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Committed to working from the office on a full-time basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Accounting Full Function
+ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
+ Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate journal entries and reconciliations.
+ Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
+ Manage cash flow and budgeting processes.
+ Conduct variance analysis and reporting.
+ Ensure compliance with accounting standards and best practices. Stock Control
+ Oversee inventory management and valuation processes.
+ Implement and monitor internal controls for stock accuracy.
+ Collaborate with operations for stock audits and reconciliations. Human Resources and Payroll
+ Manage monthly payroll processing, including leave and benefits administration.
+ Ensure compliance with all HR and labor regulations.
+ Maintain employee records and contracts in line with statutory requirements. SARS Returns and Submissions
+ Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL, and Income Tax returns timeously.
+ Consult with SARS on audits, objections, and queries.
+ Ensure full tax compliance across all financial aspects. CIPC Compliance
+ Prepare and submit annual returns and company changes to CIPC.
+ Maintain the company statutory records and registers. Team Leadership
+ Lead, mentor, and supervise the finance and admin team.
+ Oversee workflow, task allocations, and performance management.
+ Provide training and development to junior team members. Process Improvement and Systems
+ Identify opportunities to improve accounting and operational systems.
+ Contribute to the automation and digitization of processes.
