We are seeking a fully qualified and SACPCMP-registered Construction Health and Safety Manager (CHSM) to join our professional team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will oversee multiple projects and play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, particularly the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993) and associated Construction Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Review and evaluate safety documentation and project-specific health and safety plans.
Conduct regular risk assessments, site inspections, and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Investigate incidents and compile detailed reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all safety-related activities and communications.
Minimum Requirements:
Professional Registration
Active registration as a Construction Health and Safety Manager (CHSM) with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) is essential.
Key Skills and Competencies
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
Thorough understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Construction Regulations.
Strong report-writing abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
