Job Description

The duties of a SACPCMP registered Safety Agent are to ensure that the construction work is carried out in a safe and healthy manner, in accordance with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Construction Regulations, 2014.

The following are some of the specific duties:

• The entire Scope of work (Project Stages 1-6) of services for a Pr. CHSA as per the SACPCMP.
• Develop a Health and Safety Plan: You will be responsible for developing a comprehensive Health and Safety Plan that outlines the safety requirements and measures that will be implemented on the construction site.
• Conduct regular safety inspections: You must conduct regular safety inspections of the construction site to identify potential hazards and to ensure that all safety regulations are being adhered to.
• Advise the client: You must advise the client on all matters related to health and safety on the construction site, including the appointment of contractors, the selection ofappropriate safety equipment, and the implementation of safe work practices.
• Monitor compliance: You must monitor the compliance of all contractors on the construction site with the requirements of the Health and Safety Plan and the Construction Regulations, and take corrective action where necessary.
• Investigate incidents: You must investigate any incidents that occur on the construction site and take appropriate action to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future -IRCA will assist.
• Maintain records: You must maintain accurate records of all safety-related activities on the construction site, including safety inspections, incident investigations, and safety training.
