They are looking for a Senior Analyst Developer RPG to join their team. JOB DESCRIPTION: To work with stakeholders from all business units and related third parties to design, develop, test, analyse, and maintain new and current software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyse, design, develop and test

• Design and develop systems based on customer requirements and specifications by asking probing questions to help better understand the project scope
• Plans programming projects by first completing the required documentation
• Meet programming standards by following production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards, identifying work process improvements and implementing new technology
• Ensure all development conforms to development lifecycle
• Align with departmental needs/direction by implementing standards, development procedure and methodologies
• Testing of programs to ensure workability

Documentation and administration

• Compile all relevant documentation for the request/project
• Ensure all documentation compiled as required by ITIL, processes/manuals thereby keeping records of development, maintenance and changes

Support

• Maintenance/enhancements of programs
• Provide support to internal and external customers for claim/system queries
• Provide support to fellow team members (knowledge transfer and helping in the design phase and the testing phase of other projects)
• Provides coaching, guidance and training to junior programmers

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12
• A Certificate or Diploma showing that the programmer is proficient in computer programming concepts
• Any other relevant tertiary qualification will be beneficial

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• A minimum of 8 years experience with ILE advanced concepts (Procedures, Service programs, Functions, Free RPG coding syntax)
• Fluent in RDI
• Any form of experience in Web development will be an advantage (i.e., knowledge of HTML, Java script, etc.)
• Any form of experience with REST web services will be an advantage
• After-hours and stand-by duties as and when required.
• Ability to understand interdependencies across environments
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements
• Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives without supervision
• Ability to solve problems
• Able to grasp the requirements of projects quickly
• Asks probing questions to help better understand the project scope
