Job Description


Our client in the Hospitality industry is currently looking for a Room Service Coordinator in Sea Point, Cape Town.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing in-room dining operations.
  • Supervising staff, ensuring top-notch guest service, timely order delivery, and upholding high-quality standards.
  • Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the IRD Supervisor collaborates with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Thoroughly understand the menu and accurately record all information, including special requests.
  • Handle guest requests and orders promptly, courteously, and efficiently.
  • Lead and supervise the In-Room Dining team, providing guidance, support, and training to maintain high levels of motivation and performance.
  • Schedule and assign tasks to team members, ensuring appropriate coverage during peak and off-peak hours.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates, offer feedback, and foster a positive working environment.
  • Ensure guests receive exceptional service during their In-Room Dining experience, addressing any concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Answer telephone orders from hotel guests in accordance with Room Service Standards.
  • Monitor guest feedback and reviews related to In-Room Dining, taking appropriate actions to improve service and address recurring issues.
  • Oversee the efficient processing of In-Room Dining orders, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery to guest rooms.
  • Monitor inventory levels of In-Room Dining supplies, coordinating with the procurement team for timely replenishment.
  • Maintain accurate records of In-Room Dining orders, expenses, and other relevant data.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the Hospitality industry, preferably in a 4 or 5-star hotel.
  • Experience in in-room dining or room service operations.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Clear and effective communication is crucial for dealing with guests and coordinating with the team and other departments.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with Micros or similar point-of-sale systems commonly used in the Hospitality industry.
  • Quick and effective problem-solving to address guest concerns and ensure a seamless experience.
  • Ability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Any additional training or Certifications related to Hospitality, Customer Service, or Food Safety would be advantageous.
Remuneration:
  • Up to R8 300 per month.
