Job Purpose
The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to manage and supervise road worker maintenance teams whilst performing road maintenance on Proclaimed Road Network in the West Coast Area.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 10 (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3 years semi-skilled manual experience; A valid (Code EC) driving licence with professional drivers permit (PDP).

Key Performance Areas
Manage and supervise a team; Plan, supervise and undertake road maintenance activities; Determine material quantities for road maintenance activities; Define road defects and undertake corrective measures; Safeguard work areas in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act; Train subordinates
The following will be advantageous:
Experience in the following: Civil construction activities; Operating large construction machines; Management and Supervision of staff; Administrative related experience.
Competencies
Good understanding of the maintenance and repair of defects on roads and within road reserves; Conflict and diversity management; Skills needed: Communication (verbal and written); Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; Ability to work in a team; Self-motivated.
Remuneration
R 193 359 - R 227 766 per annum (Salary Level 4)

Nominated Candidate/s will be subjected to a medical fitness test as prescribed by the Construction Regulations, as contained in the OHS Act, 85/1993
