Job Summary

Great opportunity to join a renowned Asset Manager as a Risk & Performance Analyst in Cape Town.

This role is responsible for assisting with the analysis of investment risk and preparation performance reports. This role requires a candidate with a very strong background in programming and understanding of various coding languages.

This is an EE designated opportunity.

Some key role functions:

• Assisting with monthly monitoring, analysis and reporting of fund and benchmark risk and performance
• Analysis, improvement and automation of performance and risk management processes
• Analysis and assisting with GIPS preparation and reporting process
• Enhance the production of investment risk and performance reports and attribution for portfolio managers
• Engaging with various stakeholders in the business including portfolio managers and senior management on various analyses and reports to help identify and monitor sources of risk and mitigation of this risk
• Assist in developing processes to enhance the entire Performance and Risk Management Framework (including performance shortfall risk, liquidity risk and regulatory risk)
• Attending and active participation in investment committee meetings

Key requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Quantitative fields e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Quantitative Finance or Actuarial Science
• 1-3 years experience as a Risk and/or Performance Analyst
• A good understanding of and passion for financial instruments and markets
• Programming or coding knowledge in various languages: R, Python, C++, C# or Java and including Excel's VBA. Proficient in PowerBI.
• Excellent communication and numerical skills.
• Analytical and detail orientated.
• Take pride in own accuracy.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise.
