About the Company
Cape Point?Vineyards is a family?owned wine estate located on the slopes of Chapman's Peak in Noordhoek, just 1.2?km from the Atlantic coast. Cape Point Vineyards is known for award?winning wines, a beautiful restaurant, picnic lawns, and hosting weddings, corporate events and tastings, the estate combines wine production, hospitality and event services.
Job Purpose
To deliver exceptional guest experiences, support the daily operations of the estate and ensure that all hospitality, event, tasting or cellar functions run smoothly--upholding the high standards of Cape Point?Vineyards in brand, service, and authenticity.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on the role, responsibilities may include:
Greeting and servicing guests at tastings, restaurant, picnic areas, Courtyard or events.
Guiding wine tastings, explaining varietals, terroir and the estate's philosophy.
Assisting in set?up, coordination and execution of events (weddings, corporate functions, private bookings).
Supporting front?of?house functions: tables, bar service, handling payments, ensuring cleanliness and presentation.
Adhering to health & safety, hygiene, licensing and regulatory requirements.
Upholding the estate's quality image, sustainability practices, and customer?centric culture.
Collaborating with team members across hospitality, winery, events and administration departments.
Skills & Attributes
Strong customer service orientation, warm and approachable demeanour.
Excellent communication skills: able to engage with guests, explain wine/tasting concepts clearly.
A positive, team?player attitude, comfortable working in a fast?paced environment (especially during events).
Ability to maintain attention to detail, presentable appearance, and uphold high standards.
Flexibility with work hours: weekends, evenings and public holidays may be required.
An affinity for wine and food, a knowledge of local wine industry (preferred).
Basic POS systems, ordering, etc.
Qualifications & Experience
A matric (or equivalent) with additional relevant hospitality/food & beverage qualification is beneficial.
Previous experience in hospitality, events, winery or restaurant environment preferred.
(Optional) Certification such as WSET or other wine education would be a plus.
Must be able to travel to the Noordhoek estate and have reliable transport if needed.
