Restaurant General Manager
Sandton, Gauteng
R22 500 CTC per month

An upmarket Grill and Seafood Restaurant in Sandton is seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager to oversee its daily operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a well-established establishment in a fast-growing business hub.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on manager with strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure, customer-focused environment. The General Manager will report directly to the restaurant operator and play a key role in ensuring operational excellence and profitability.
Minimum Requirements:

  • Matriculation.
  • 3+ years' restaurant management experience within an upmarket establishment.
  • Proficiency in PILOT Software.
  • Clear criminal record (a polygraph test will be conducted before an employment offer is extended).
Key Responsibilities:
Business Operations:
  • Oversee the opening and closing of the restaurant.
  • Ensure smooth daily operations, including Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) functions.
  • Manage cash-ups, banking, and operational budgets.
Staff Management:
  • Lead and manage the restaurant team, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
  • Foster a positive work environment to enhance team performance and guest experience.
Customer Experience:
  • Maintain exceptional service standards and ensure a top-tier dining experience.
  • Handle customer feedback and resolve any service-related issues promptly.
Stock and Inventory Control:
  • Conduct regular stock takes, receive deliveries, and manage supplier orders.
  • Monitor stock levels to maintain cost control and quality assurance.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff.
Financial Oversight:
  • Monitor expenses, sales, and profitability.
  • Assist in financial reporting and managing payroll.
