Job Description

The President Hotel is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation, and we are creating a new opportunity for a Restaurant Manager - Pool Deck to join our Food & Beverage leadership team.
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Restaurant Manager with proven experience managing large-scale food and beverage operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-volume restaurants or luxury hotel F&B outlets, with the ability to lead and motivate a team, ensure flawless service delivery, and drive operational and financial success.
You will oversee all aspects of the newly renovated Pool Deck restaurant, including guest engagement, staff leadership, supplier and inventory coordination, financial reporting, and compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards. Flexibility to assist other hotel outlets will be required, ensuring consistency and excellence across all dining experiences.
Experience & Requirements
Minimum 3-5 years' management experience in large-scale food and beverage/restaurant operations (hotel or resort environment preferred)
Hospitality Management qualification (advantageous)
Strong leadership, people management, and team development abilities
In-depth knowledge of high-volume restaurant and bar operations
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and restaurant systems (Micros-Simphony, Opera, Dineplan)
Strong financial acumen with experience in cost control, stock management, and reporting
Passion for hospitality and a commitment to exceptional guest service
South African citizen with a valid ID
Duties & Responsibilities
Lead daily Pool Deck operations, ensuring smooth service delivery and exceptional guest experiences
Develop and implement operational plans, SOPs, and service standards
Manage reservations, guest flow, and service coordination for a high-volume outlet
Oversee inventory, purchasing, and supplier relationships to ensure cost efficiency and quality
Monitor performance metrics, budgets, and financial reports to optimise profitability
Engage with guests, handle feedback and complaints, and drive repeat business through service excellence
Increase revenue through upselling, promotions, and innovative service initiatives
Recruit, train, coach, and retain a high-performing team
Manage rosters, leave, and disciplinary processes in line with labour practices
Conduct performance evaluations and appraisals to motivate and grow the team
Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations
Maintain outlet cleanliness, presentation, and brand standards at all times
Collaborate with other outlets and departments to ensure consistency in hotel-wide service delivery
