Sotano is seeking an experienced

General Manager

to lead one of Cape Town's most established oceanfront restaurants.

This role suits a confident hospitality leader who can run a high-volume operation with consistency, lead a large team effectively, and protect the standards that define the Sotano experience -- while continuing to evolve the business.

The Role



You will take full responsibility for the restaurant's day-to-day operations, team leadership, and overall performance. You'll work closely with the Operations Manager and Head Chef and FOH leadership to ensure smooth service and operational consistency.

Key Responsibilities



Lead all front-of-house and overall restaurant operations Manage and develop the team, ensuring strong performance and accountability Maintain high service standards and guest experience Oversee staffing, rosters, labour control, and stock management Manage GP control, cost efficiency, and operational reporting Ensure accurate cash-ups and administrative processes Coordinate closely with kitchen leadership to ensure seamless service

What We're Looking For



Proven experience as a General Manager in a high-volume restaurant Strong leadership presence and people management skills Solid understanding of hospitality financial controls Organised, reliable, and detail-focused Comfortable leading an established, high-performing team Cape Town hospitality experience is an advantage
