Job Description

A well known Hotel Group is seeking a Reservations Consultant to join their team in the Central Reservations Department in Sea Point Cape Town. The Reservations Consultant will be required to make reservations received through email, telephone, website and sales. Main duties include but not limited to:

• Make, modify and cancel reservations received via email, telephone and sales channels
• Verify availability of room types and rates before confirming any reservations
• Determine the most appropriate room and rate types, packages and promotions to meet guest requirements and maximize room rates
• Advise guests on payment options and cancellation policies when confirming reservations
• Answer guest questions about property facilities/services (e.g., hours of operation, room availability, restricted dates, rates and room types, packages, promotions, entertainment, restaurants, special events)
• Ensure all proof of payments and vouchers received by Central Reservation are forwarded to respective hotels in order to be allocated to bookings
• Communicate all rate and payment queries with all relevant departments at all times
• Quote and facilitate STO/GROUPS/SERIES bookings when necessary
• Follow xe2x80x9cup sellingxe2x80x9d techniques and sales strategies in order to maximize property revenue
• Follow proper escalation procedures when addressing guest concerns, complaints and compliments
